The swimming pool for private use requires a Declaration of Initiation of Activity (DIA) from the Municipality if the in-ground swimming pool has a volume greater than 10 cbm or if above ground it exceeds 5 cbm. It does not require permits for in-ground swimming pools with a volume of less than 10 m3 or above ground swimming pools of less than 5 cbm.
Swimming pool for shared use
To build a swimming pool for condominium use, a condominium assembly resolution is first required. If underground, it requires a DIA from the City Hall, while if above ground, in compliance with the condominium regulations, it does not require a DIA.
Swimming pool for public use
A swimming pool for public use is subjected to rigorous safety checks and health requirements and requires the issuing of specific authorizations by the relevant bodies.
All swimming pools, each for its own public, private or condominium classification, must comply with the UNI 10637 standard.
